During Oumae Kumiko’s initial year, she and the Kitauji High School Wind Ensemble delivered an impressive performance that captivated their audience. However, their subsequent year proved to be disappointing with underwhelming outcomes for the entire club. Despite aiming for a gold medal in the national competition, they received a “dud gold” at the Kansai event, resulting in disheartenment. Following the departure of the seniors and new leadership assuming control, Kumiko is appointed the club president and eagerly accepts the challenge of leading Kitauji to Nationals, with the guidance of their teacher, Taki Noboru, to achieve their ultimate objective.
